Chapter History

The Plano Alumnae Club was first organized on April 6, 1976 in the home of Jane Arledge and continued to operate as an alumnae club for 14 years. During this time, the population of Plano and the surrounding areas experienced great growth, as did the number of initiated Theta alumnae in the area.

Changes were made within Kappa Alpha Theta that better defined alumnae organizations and on April 10, 1990, the Plano Alumnae Club was changed to the Plano Alumnae Chapter. This change has allowed our group a voting delegate at Convention, which is held every two years.

The chapter name is "Plano" Alumnae Chapter, but we are so much more. We have members from all over the Dallas/Collin County area and even quite a few members from North Dallas, Addison, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Carrollton, and Richardson. Theta's strong presence in Texas and the DFW area makes it possible to have multiple Alumnae Chapters to better serve our alumnae members.
